A year after Tinder stopped working in Russia, the total internet traffic of available dating services increased by 20%, according to data from Megafon. The most popular dating apps of 2024 include LovePlanet, Tabor and Teamo.

In June, LovePlanet became the leader in terms of user activity. In the year since Tinder’s withdrawal, subscribers’ Internet traffic consumption has grown by almost a third (30%). Tabor is in second place, with a 21% increase compared to June 2023. Dating service Teamo rounds out the top three with an increase of 56%.
The top 5 most popular dating apps by volume of traffic spent also included Mamba and Beboo.
At the same time, the Waplog service demonstrated the best dynamics. In June 2024, users spent 5 times more gigabytes than in June 2023. The Nekto dating portal also grew significantly – by 42%.
The rating differs in the number of unique visitors: the Mamba app became the leader, a year later its audience grew by another 12%. Next come Tabor (by 25%) and Nekto (by 150%).
According to Megafon research, the main users of online dating services are men (62% of the entire audience) and they consume 73% of all traffic on dating portals. The audience aged 18-34 is most active on Tabor, subscribers over 35 use LovePlanet more often. Young people (14-17 years old) use Nekto more often.
Among the regions, in terms of the volume of traffic consumed on dating services, the leaders are residents of the Moscow, Krasnodar Territory, St. Petersburg, Rostov and Samara regions.
- Before leaving Russia, Tinder was in the top three in terms of the number of unique users and occupied about a quarter of the total audience of the online dating market in Russia. The service was launched in 2012 and later appeared in the Russian Federation, subsequently becoming one of the most popular online dating apps in the world. In April 2022, Tinder limited Russians’ access to paid options, and on June 30, 2023, it stopped operating completely in Russia.
- Another popular foreign dating service, Badoo, announced that it will cease its activities in the Russian market in March 2022.
