Russians buy special massagers to “beat” a hamster in Hamster Kombat

Vedomosti has found that percussion massagers have become more actively purchased on Russian markets. In June, the demand for wild berries increased by 179%.

On the cards of such products, sellers indicate that the device will be effective for Hamster Kombat users. For example, the description of a percussion massager with four attachments for 817 rubles says “Percussion massager for the muscles of the back, neck and Hamster Kombat.”

According to data from MPGO and Shopstat services, almost 700 products with Hamster Combat in the title or description are currently sold on Wildberries and 130 on Ozon.

The massager is applied to the hand with which the user clicks the picture and due to the vibration, the clicks occur faster.

Ozon confirmed to the publication that demand for massagers has increased in the first months of summer, but the market does not consider the dynamics to be significant. Thus, sales of devices grew by 34% in units and 28% in monetary terms year-on-year. Yandex Market has not recorded an increase in interest in massagers.

Hamster Kombat is a Telegram mini-application. Users must click on the image of the hamster as quickly as possible, as for each click they receive in-game currency. In the application, players are informed that after Hamster Kombat is launched on the cryptocurrency exchange, the coins earned in the game will be converted into cryptocurrency.

According to the founder of the messenger, Pavel Durov, the number of users of the app has reached 239 million people in three months. Every day, 4-5 million new users start to “touch” the hamster.

The creators of the game are not revealed. However, the media wrote that Carprice and Carmoney co-founder Eduard Gurinovich was involved in the development and launch.

Two months before the launch, the domain hamsterkombat.com was registered. The email associated with the domain during registration is owned by the Cypriot company Arenum ltd., whose shareholders include Alexander Zelenshchikov, Eduard Gurinovich and Alexander Pasechnik.
