The list of classes of goods and services specified in the applications indicates that the new marks can be used for issuing credit cards, investments, secured loans, banking services, granting loans and online banking.
The representative of M.Video-Eldorado did not comment in detail on plans related to the registration of new trademarks, noting only that the company is “actively developing financial services” within the framework of its own credit platform “Direct Credit” and is preparing to launch “new financial products”.
M.Video currently allows customers to purchase electronic products in installments. In this case, the financial loan for the purchase is provided by partner banks.
Vedomosti’s interlocutor at a major fintech company knows that M.Video has created an MFO to be able to lend to clients independently.
In the spring, the company also launched a new fintech service: smartphone subscription with an approved credit line, i.e. the possibility of purchasing devices and paying for purchases using a revolving credit limit by returning the old device.
