VTB reported an increase in the share of online payments made using QR codes through the Fast Payment System (FPS). Every fourth bank customer using a monthly card pays for their purchases through SBP. The share of such payments in online stores is 45% and will almost equal payments made using QR codes in regular stores by mid-2023.
VTB believes that the introduction of the universal QR code will increase its popularity at points of sale, but customers will increasingly prefer online purchases. Daria Morozova from Dom.RF Bank notes that most of its customers make transactions via the Internet, and among payments made through SBP, the share of online transactions is 60%.
Alfa Bank sees an increase in banking Payment services and offline purchases. The head of the department Nikolai Volosevich said that from December to June, the share of non-classical payment methods reached 22%. The share of SBP increased to 10.5%, and the share of its own banking solutions increased to 12%. He also noted that the share of online purchases varies depending on the season, but usually does not exceed 35-45%.
