The Grand Theft Auto (GTA/GTA) franchise has been one of those that epitomizes the gaming industry for 2 decades. Each new part is always waiting for tens of millions of players around the world. Today I want to take a closer look at them and share some of my concerns with you.

After this event, the children were separated. About 20 years have passed, and at the beginning of the story, the brother is a government agent, while the sister is in the same cartel. Together they will try to destroy the criminal organization, but probably in different ways.

The plot description is pretty good. A very dramatic and very personal story. Such a film, with the right approach, could easily win an Oscar, if it were a movie. However, does it suit the style of the series? Of course, everything will depend on the details. But let’s recall all the previous parts of the series. In all of them there was always a peculiar spirit of madness. Some elements that make a police drama something special. Not even like this. The previous parts just never really focused on their characters’ emotions and inner world. Or somehow beat him in his bold way. Unlike, for example, the Red Dead Redemption (RDR/RDR) series, which is a drama in its purest form.
An exception, perhaps, can be considered the fourth part. Many gamers complained that GTA 4 was always too tragic and deep for this series in terms of plot. Now they would call it suffocating. Later, they tried to fix this in the DLC, but the game itself didn’t change much, because the DLC had completely different main characters. Personally, I have nothing against this. I love serious stories much more than trash and waste. But still, I hope that the developers can support the familiar style for the players. I wish they could avoid not only the annoying news, but also the trending Fortnite style. And you don’t need to look far for an example of such changes, you just need to remember the new Saints Row.
Previously, RockStar’am would often fly for the fact that they went too far with the devil in their games. The last big game from the studio is still RDR 2, released in 2018. Considering the development period, it can be called a project of the old RockStars, which we love so much. And the world was different back then. Considering that it will be a couple of years before the release of GTA 6, who knows what the game will be like. Therefore, all my previous fears are more relevant than ever.

And to be precise, Cuba, Colombia and the cities of Vice City and Carcer City (from the Manhunt game). Well, Brazil, in which the events of the prologue will take place. Needless to say, this is a very large area. I still don’t understand if it will be a full open world or like, for example, in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. There, England, Norway and other places were huge in themselves, but they were not connected by a world and the transition between them was accompanied by a loading screen.
In any case, a great open world for GTA is an integral part of the charm of this franchise. However, don’t you think this world is too big? In general, open worlds are gradually becoming boring for players. This is especially true for very large open worlds. In the fifth part there was already a huge world and making it even bigger, for me, is a controversial decision. Of course, RockStars knows their business well and the content of their game worlds is a delight. In RDR 2 itself, the concentration of content was incredible. And, more importantly, the game rewarded the player for investigating, rather than just throwing questions in their faces. But in any business there is always a measure, and overstepping it, charm turns into frivolity.

I don’t know if these leaks are worth believing. As I said before, GTA is one of the most popular video game series in the world. Such popularity also has a drawback in view of the presence of a large dose of misinformation. Not long ago, even before these leaks, I came across a video with the history of GTA 5 leaks. And what kind of information about the game did not come out during its development. Literally for all tastes and colors. I’m not saying that these particular leaks I’m talking about today have a high probability of being fake, no. They sound quite reliable and logical. Just don’t blindly believe in everything. The end result can be absolutely anything. After all, GTA 6 has yet to be officially announced. We’ve just been told that work on the game is already underway.

Personally, I am not looking forward to the sixth part. I already said once that GTA ended for me in the fourth part. Not because I was disappointed in the series in any way. No problem. I just played it as a kid. However, I have always been and will be happy with a good story and a great atmosphere. Once again, the plot is very interesting. However, there are some points that require clarification. The gaming industry, and in particular its AAA segment, is in a very difficult position right now. Therefore, even in such audience favorites as RockStar, you should not blindly believe. Well, what kind of game will actually come out, only time will tell.
