Attackers send links to a phishing resource for authorization on the service, through which it is supposedly possible to withdraw coins from the Hamster Kombat game and convert them into rubles. To authorize on the page, you need to enter your Telegram credentials.

The goal is to obtain a phone number and a verification code. Scammers can use the access they gain to messaging accounts to steal sensitive data, blackmail and send messages to a list of contacts.

To protect your account, the company’s senior content analyst Olga Svistunova recommends setting up two-factor authentication, not clicking on links in dubious messages, and using a reliable security solution on all your devices.

  • Hamster Kombat is a Telegram mini-application. Users must click on the image of the hamster as quickly as possible, as for each click they receive in-game currency. In the application, players are informed that after Hamster Kombat is launched on the cryptocurrency exchange, the coins earned in the game will be converted into cryptocurrency.
  • In early July, amid the growing popularity of the game, Ozon and Wildberries recorded a surge in sales of percussion massagers. With their help, users click on the image of a hamster faster and more efficiently.
