I think everyone found themselves in a situation where a USB flash drive was desperately needed, but either wasn’t available or was sent to the next world at the wrong time. In this article, you will learn how to install Windows/Linux without using portable media.

In fact, there is nothing complicated about installing the operating system without a USB flash drive. Fortunately, in the age of SSD media, all of this is done in two clicks.

a. Start the disk editor by pressing on the keyboard Win+R and in the window that appears, enter the command diskmgmt.mscand then confirm on the button okay. You can also call the editor via the usual right click on the start panel.

two. In the program interface that opens, we find any disk and, by right-clicking on it, activate the compression function. After some thought, the software will ask you to select the desired size of the new disk. Specify any size, in my case it is 4096 MB, and continue to the next step.

3. If you did everything correctly, a new one will appear on the software interface. unallocated disk. Right click on it and select Create a simple volume. In the volume creation wizard window click next > next > done, but at the time of choosing the partition format, we specified the FAT32 file system.

In principle, the saddest part of the instruction has officially come to an end. If you did everything right again, when you enter “This PC” you will have a new disk.

four We select the ISO image of our future system and, using the 7-Zip archiver, unzip the files to the newly created disk. We overload the PC.

5. Now the system boot process will not differ from using a basic bootable USB flash drive Via F11, select the installer and enjoy the system installation.

conclusion

That, in fact, is all. With a little trick, we complete the system installation without any other means. The main thing in this method is to have 2 separate disks so you don’t accidentally overwrite yourself. And use it, as it is truly magical!

P.S. The path for Linux is completely the same, just use Gparted.
