It included leading research institutes from different parts of the country, including Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Moscow.
The aim of the consortium is to coordinate efforts in the development and support of supercomputing centers as well as specialized data centers.
According to the authors of the initiative, all this is needed to solve important scientific, scientific, technical and socio-economic problems that require significant computing power.
The consortium’s combined infrastructure includes 900 servers with a total performance of 1.5 PFlops and storage systems with more than 15 PB of capacity.
This power will enable the operation of distributed information systems to collect, store and process scientific data for use by organizations nationwide.
The consortium currently provides support and resources to 240 organizations in Russia.
