I have prepared a surprise Nintendo next to Lego in GamesCom 2024because they presented an incredible Mario Kart set with a few minor characters and no particular prominence for Mario and Luigi.
Prices range from $15 to $80, none of the sets include any traditional minifigures, and they will go on sale January 1, 2025.
Each set in the line comes with a variety of accessories, from racing markers like cones to item boxes and weapons like red and green shells or banana peels to create your own race track, culminating in the largest set, the $80 Baby Peach & Grand Prix, which comes with a starting line and barriers. Each set includes a kart or bike and corresponding racers, with the exception of two: the Standard Kart set ($20), inspired by the kart from Mario Kart 8 and includes the Red Toad and Toad’s Garage mechanic ($40), which instead comes with Mario B. Dasher from Mario Kart DS and two blue toad mechanics. Here are the full details of each set and their price:
- Yoshi Bike, $15, comes with a blue Yoshi, shells, traffic cones, and an item block.
- The standard $20 kart comes with a red Toad mech, projectiles, and a workstation.
- Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi, $30, includes Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, shells and balloons.
- Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo, $35, comes with Donkey Kong, shells, banana peel and a target.
- The $40 Toad’s Garage set includes two red Toad mechs, shells, and a full garage with interchangeable wheels.
- Baby Peach & Grand Prix includes Baby Peach, Toad, Lemmy the Koopaling, exit door, podium and various accessories.
