Kazakhstan’s Freedom Bank has suspended transfers via the Zolotaya Korona service, Forbes Kazakhstan reported on August 28, citing the financial organization’s press service.

The Bank intends to take further action after receiving additional information from the payment system.

CenterCredit, Bereke Bank, Eurasian Bank, Bank RBK, Nurbank said they continue to work with Zolotaya Korona as usual, but are monitoring the development of the situation.

HalykBank did not respond to the publication’s question about whether they were working with the service, but added that they were looking into the sanctions imposed.

On August 23, the United States expanded sanctions against Russian companies in the electronics and information technology sector. The developer of the mobile application for the Golden Crown system, the Center for Financial Technologies (CFT), also came under restrictions. The Golden Crown itself is not yet included in the sanctions lists.

Golden Crown occupies a leading position among other similar services in terms of transfer volumes to Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
