Satellite internet company Starlink has sent a letter to Brazilian customers of its service via email. Elon Musk’s company defended itself against the accusations and even promised to provide the service for free if necessary.

Starlink’s accounts were blocked in the country by order of Federal Supreme Court (STF) minister Alexandre de Moraes. He is suing X for his actions in the country. — The social network formerly called Twitter also belongs to Musk.

The disagreements between Moraes and Musk began when the STF requested information about the ban of certain accounts and profiles under investigation. From a freedom of expression perspective, the billionaire refused to cooperate and accused the minister of censorship.

What does the Starlink letter say?

According to the statement obtained by the newspaper Sao Paulo ForumStarlink says “is determined to defend“customer rights and”will continue to serve“even free of charge if necessary”while addressing this issue through legal channels“.

Starlink also complains that the fines imposed on X are unconstitutional.”secretly published” and without providing the company with guaranteed legal process.

“In addition, the operator is charged for platform sharing”an unfounded finding“, because the companies have no formal connections with each other.

Starlink is currently the leader in the satellite internet supply market in Brazil. In about two years of operation, it has been providing services, especially in small cities and remote areas, The company has more than 200 thousand customers and 42.5% of the market on national territory.

Having failed to appoint a new representative for X in Brazil, Musk once again criticized Moraes on social media. The expectation in Brazil is that the platform will be blocked in the country at least temporarily at any time, something that has not yet happened as of Friday morning (30).
