The recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 6 has come as one of the most popular foldable smartphones with its powerful chip and great looks. However, many users have complained about issues with the device’s paint peeling off, and Samsung has warned that unofficial chargers could be one of the reasons for the issue.

The South Korean company points out on its official support page that ‘third-party high-energy chargers’ without electrical grounding can cause an effect such as the device’s paint peeling.

The reason for this is related to the anodized metallic material that covers the Z Fold 6, which, although durable, is sensitive to energy discharges without the need for grounding.

The cause of the problem is even more interesting. According to Samsung, using third-party chargers and using your smartphone with your hand while charging can cause electric current leakage.

This ungrounded current also passes through the user’s body, affecting the paint and creating this aesthetic problem.

Massage therapists also have problems

Samsung reiterates that using chargers from trusted and well-established brands should not cause problems. However, low-quality products that do not meet the brand’s requirements may damage the device.

The company’s website also notes that electric muscle massagers (EMS) can also damage the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s paint when connected to the device’s USB Type-C port. To prevent this, the company is asking users not to touch their phones to any part of the body while using the massagers.

Most of the massage tools used are also of low quality. (Image: Samsung/Description)

Despite the explanations, some users seem less than pleased with the answer, assuming it’s a manufacturing issue.
