X Launches New Video App for TV. Confirming its intentions to develop an app aimed at smart TVs, the social network announced that X for TV is now available in multiple app stores. The new app will be key to supporting Elon Musk and the company’s commitment to video content.

The first beta of X for TV is now available to download to TVs via Google TV, Amazon Fire TV and LG (webOS)The company did not provide details about the app’s features or compatibility with other operating systems or devices. A post from engineering account X shows a sketch of what it will look like after signing in.

“The X TV beta app is now available on multiple app stores, with more platforms coming soon,” the announcement reads about the video-focused platform, which opens up new opportunities for creators, advertisers and our partners.”

A video posted by DogeDesigner offers a glimpse into the capabilities of X for TV. The app’s home screen displays recommended videos based on your interestsand a number of short videos (clips). The player takes up the entire screen, although it offers the ability to view responses to publications.

In terms of quality, users can choose Resolution options 720p or 1080p (Full HD). The app also allows you to increase or decrease the playback speed, as well as search for new videos using the built-in keyboard, controlled by the TV remote.
