It seems that another problem has been added to the problem of one used plastic, however, so far without the same serious consequences – an island the size of two tennis courts has formed on the Thames near London, consisting of used wet wipes.

The fact is that after they are thrown into the sewer, such napkins do not decompose, toilet paper is formed, since it is associated with plastic, and then from the treatment facilities they enter the main water artery of the British capital.

As MP Fleur Andersen, who visited the island of napkins, said, this is a massive artificial formation up to a meter thick, already measured on the Thames frequency. To avoid worsening the situation, it offers benefits from the production and sale of plastic-containing wet wipes and the development of their recycling.

In addition to damming the Thames, used wet wipes are found in emissions of so-called “fatbergs” consisting of solids and fats that can clog city sewers.

However, so far everything is limited to appeals and exhortations. T, British Environment Minister Rebekaa Pou s s s s s s s s s s
