There is interest in resuming transportation on both sides, both Russia and China.
The authorities of the Trans-Baikal Territory are particularly interested, as they note the congestion of road checkpoints between the countries, making rail communications more important for improving the transport situation.
It is also worth noting that in July 2024, Russian Railways will introduce a new service that will allow passengers who do not have tickets for the entire route to arrange a transfer within the same train.
