According to the airline, the plane moved without deviations according to the established landing parameters, but during landing the ship was affected by uncontrolled wind shear, which caused a forced landing. At the same time, the crew managed to keep the plane on the runway. The airline also highlighted that the plane was landed by “an experienced pilot with more than 12,500 flight hours.”

The Rostec group of companies, which produces the Superjet, previously commented on the incident, saying that “not even the best aircraft is immune from bad weather, maintenance or piloting errors.”

Azimuth’s investigation also revealed no trace of ignition of the entire plane; According to the investigation, only jet fuel that spilled from a damaged fuel tank was ignited. Previously, the company’s CEO, Eduard Teplitsky, told Interfax that “the plane did not burn directly,” but only the fuel ignited, “which spilled onto the cement.” At the same time, the Baza Telegram channel stated that the fire consumed not only the spilled fuel, but also part of the aircraft’s engines.

“According to the Antalya incident, this is a total loss of the aircraft. Taking into account the age of the plane, the damage could amount to between 2 and 3 billion rubles,” highlighted a TASS source in the insurance market.
Azimuth engineers are assessing the damage to the Superjet in collaboration with United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) employees, and passengers will receive compensation of 100,000 rubles, the airline noted.

Based on the emergency situation in Turkey, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under part 1 of Article 263 of the Penal Code (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of air transport).

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 of the Azimut company made a forced landing in Antalya on November 24 of this year while flying Sochi-Antalya. Of the 95 passengers and crew, no one was injured, but Antalya airport had to reject all incoming flights for several hours and operate only departures from the alternative runway.
