Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said that the European Commission gave the green light to state aid to Intel. The amount of subsidies will exceed 7.4 billion zlotys for the period from 2024 to 2026.

Poland needs to pass legislation to make these funds available and formally notify the European Commission before a final deal with Intel can be made. The entire process is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

This investment is in line with the European Chip Act, which aims to increase Europe’s share of the global semiconductor market to 20% by 2030. The Intel project is also included in the €43 billion investment plan.
