The nuclear power plant, currently dormant, will provide carbon-free energy to support Microsoft data centers in the PJM area.

Constellation CEO Joe Dominguez highlighted the critical role of “reliable, carbon-free” nuclear energy in powering “critical industries,” citing Microsoft.

Preparing to restart the reactor will require major investments to upgrade systems and secure regulatory approvals. The station is expected to be operational by 2028.

There is also public support for the project: More than 70 percent of Pennsylvanians support the use of nuclear power, according to a recent poll.
