Experts have discovered that an electric current can now be used to remove the battery, which weakens the adhesive holding it in place. For these purposes, a regular nine-volt battery will suffice. The method is considered reliable and does not require the use of expensive proprietary tools.

“However, we would still prefer screws or some other fastener that needs to be unscrewed rather than peeled off. This approach is better because it doesn’t require cleaning or other preparation of the battery before installation.” noted on iFixit.

Apple also stood out for its detailed iPhone repair manual; it is better than similar documents from other manufacturers. The design of the smartphone allows for easy replacement of the speaker, Taptic Engine, cameras, display and back cover, without having to disassemble other parts;

iFixit gave the iPhone 16 a repairability score of 7 out of 10, the highest score ever given to an iPhone. For example, the iPhone 15 scored just 4.

Apple was not happy with the demand for the iPhone 16: pre-orders fell by 13% in the first two days after sales began. Sales of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max fell the most: by 27% and 16%, respectively.
