One of Player.ru’s clients, who decided to return the equipment purchased on September 24, told the publication that the offline point near the Avtozavodskaya metro station was not working and the managers he contacted said that ” They left their jobs.” one day.” On the same day, four job advertisements for former employees of the store appeared on the Headhunter website, Shopper’s writes.
The interlocutor of the publication added that he had previously communicated with the founder of Player.ru, Alexei Konashev, but on Tuesday he saw that he had deleted correspondence and profiles on social networks.
Another Shopper source said Konashev had the idea of creating a marketplace based on Player.ru. The publication learned of a brief presentation of the project, which the company sent to potential partners over the summer. Commissions for sellers on the site are expected to be “below market” and storage of goods and delivery from warehouses is expected to be free. It is unknown whether Konashev has started implementing the project.
“Player.ru” was created in 2002, and the store gained popularity thanks to low prices for electronic products. In 2013, the company was ranked 21st in the ranking of the 30 largest Runet companies according to Forbes and its revenue was then estimated at $60 million.
In 2019 the online store was already closed. The company suspended operations for a month following a court decision. According to TASS, this was due to fraud with cash receipts.
