Lerchek and Chekalin were charged under paragraphs “a” and “b” of part 3 of article 193.1 of the Criminal Code (conducting monetary transactions to transfer funds in foreign currency or Russian currency to accounts of non-residents using documents counterfeit). They face up to 10 years in prison.

Chekalin did not admit guilt. In the near future, the court will also choose a preventive measure for Lerchek.

According to investigators, the Chekalins and their business partner (his name is not mentioned) entered into contracts with a foreign company to conduct fitness marathons, sent payments to offshore accounts and provided falsified documents to currency control authorities with false information about the purpose. and purpose of the transfers. As a result, more than 250 million rubles were transferred abroad.

RIA Novosti and TASS reported on the initiation of a criminal case against Lerchek and Chekalin on October 2. The next day, the former spouses and co-founder of the Letique cosmetics company, Roman Vishniac, were detained for 48 hours.

• In March 2023, a criminal case was opened against Lerchek and Chekalin for tax evasion worth 300 million rubles. In November of the same year, the defense of the former spouses announced a payment of 500 million rubles to the Federal Tax Service. The case was closed in December.
