Experts say people should drink at least two liters of water each day, but that’s actually a rough estimate that depends on a person’s age, gender, and weight. A new study by the Austrian company Waterdrop, showing that 66 people don’t drink enough water each day, led to the creation of the My Hydration app.

It estimates how much water a person should consume each day. For example, it is assumed that men and women of average weight aged 20-30 should drink 2600 ml. Volume decreases with age but increases with weight and one should drink more water if exercising or hot. According to practice, a 50-year-old person needs to drink approximately 2220 ml of water.

An expert recommended drinking 20% more than normal in hot weather, replacing tea, coffee, alcoholic and sugary drinks with water.
