Developed in collaboration with Japanese startup Vanguard Industries, Moflin learns to recognize its owner through voice and touch. It is claimed that he can develop “his own emotions and personality” that can “change over time depending on interactions”.
While regular practice will make Moflin feel confident and happy, ignoring it can make him stressed or anxious; emotional states are indicated through the companion app rather than the robot itself.
The robot is even equipped with a small charging cradle. Casio estimates the Moflin’s runtime to be around five hours on a single charge.
There’s also an optional Club Moflin subscription for ¥6,600 (about $44) per year; This subscription provides discounts on repairs and maintenance, including full bellows replacement.
