Google’s artificial intelligence that creates synthetic podcasts is officially released and gaining features

NotebookLM, Google’s advanced virtual assistant with artificial intelligence, ceased to be an experimental tool this Thursday (17). The tool, now available in its latest version, is also gained two new features that let you refine synthetic podcasts It is created by user-provided content.

The NotebookLM platform was launched in July 2023, but only reached Brazil in June this year. Unlike traditional chatbots, the service uses the Gemini Pro 1.5 model to process and synthesize contextual information previously provided by the user.

However, the most interesting function of NotebookLM is the Audio Overview (“Audio overview” in free translation), a kind of “synthetic podcast” with two presenters. Discuss information provided in natural languageas if it were an interview.

With the definitive launch of NotebookLM, Audio Overview gained new features. Now, Users can direct the conversation by providing instructions on the discussionspecifying which topics should be emphasized, adjusting the language according to the target audience, and more.

Another feature added to the tool is the “Background listening” feature, which allows you to continue listening to the podcast uninterrupted while browsing NotebookLM. This way, you can check data, search for quotes, and check information from provided files without stopping the content.

Unfortunately for Brazilians, Voice Overview is only available in English. However, the tools are already available in Brazil. There are no predictions regarding the introduction of support for other languages.
