The Russian Ministry of Finance supported the initiative to allow the sale of beer in stadiums. This was announced by Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Sazanov, TASS writes.

“We do support, however, the corresponding legislative initiative. There are other departments that are against it, so the final decision lies with the government,” Sazanov said.
In Russia, the sale of beer in sports venues has been prohibited since 2005. In 2023, work began on the “return” of the foamy drink to stadiums.
In addition to increasing excise taxes, brewers have already incurred additional costs due to labeling, higher costs of raw materials, packaging and other materials, as well as higher labor costs, Opora Rossii highlighted.
