Digital twins are virtual copies of physical objects, such as fields or drilling rigs. With their help, data will be collected that will allow you to choose the most effective tax regime. This decision should take into account the interests of both the budget and the oil companies. It is also planned to use the technology to introduce an additional income tax (ATT) from hydrocarbon production.

According to Tsivilev, this approach is being used for the first time in Russia and could become standard in the industry. The Ministry of Finance has already participated in the development of standards for the creation of digital twins, which will be an important step in optimizing the oil and gas sector.
