Using machine learning to analyze the behavior of mice in social groups, researchers observed more than 3,000 fights between male mice. They found that when a male mouse is attacked, he often runs towards the female mouse, distracting the attacker from the initial conflict.
This tactic has proven effective in preventing further aggression. Once the bait was introduced, fights were rare, and male mice generally remained at a distance from each other while the attacker continued to communicate with the female.
More research is needed to examine the long-term effects of these tactics.
