In the indictment, Ahmed Salah Yousif Omer (22) and Alaa Salah Yousif Omer (27) are accused of conspiring to damage protected computers. Additional charges will be brought against Ahmed Salah for special damages. Prosecutors say the attacks were motivated by a desire to cause “maximum destruction and chaos.”

According to investigators, the brothers used a cloud tool to disrupt online services. The tool allegedly facilitated more than 35,000 attacks and caused major disruptions. In some cases, attacks paralyzed target servers for several days, including a five-day DDoS attack on Microsoft’s Outlook email service in June 2023.

The brothers’ whereabouts and court details are unknown.
