For the New Year, retailers will increase prices on laptops and other electronics by 10% to 15%. Shipments of increasingly expensive equipment have already begun, device sellers and experts told Izvestia.

According to a newspaper source at one of the equipment importers, among the reasons for the price increase are the increase in quotes of currencies in which Russian importers pay their foreign counterparts, the increase in prices of components on the global market, as well as difficulties with international payments and logistics.
“Many manufacturers of electronics and household appliances have already announced a price increase of up to 15%,” Alexey Pogudalov, commercial director of Kholodilnik.ru, told Izvestia. He suggested that “prices will rise for absolutely everything, from phones and laptops to household appliances.”
Eldar Murtazin, leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, also confirmed to the newspaper the information about a 10-15% increase in prices for laptops and other electronic devices. According to him, “prices are rising and will continue to rise in 2025; “There are still no preconditions for a reduction.”
According to the company, a partner of several electronics manufacturers, reviewed by Izvestia, in the first half of 2024, just over 1.7 million laptops were sold at retail in Russia, about 13% more compared to the same 2023 period.
