iOS 18.2 Beta went into testing with developers this Wednesday (23). The second major update to Apple’s system introduces integration of Genmoji, Image Playground and Siri with ChatGPT.
Currently available only to developers, the update adds more content to Apple Intelligence tools and makes the suite available in more regions (for example, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia). THE But Brazil was left out.
Apple is introducing some rendering tools in iOS 18.2. The first added Genmoji was allows you to create stickers in a wide variety of styles by following text descriptions.
Another function is Image Playground, Apple’s complete rendering tool. Can create images from scratchdetail user-submitted doodles or follow text description to create an unprecedented shape.
Integration with Siri is the first part of the revamp of the company’s virtual assistant. If the user requests something that the agent cannot answer, OpenAI will ask for permission to query the chatbot.
Apart from visuals, Apple Intelligence will also offer Authoring Tools (“Authoring Tools” in English). The functionality will help refine texts written by users with specific requests.
Finally, “Visual Intelligence”, a function very similar to Google Lens and exclusive to the iPhone 16, has also been added. This feature allows the user to quickly take a photo and ask the AI questions about the photographed content..
When will iOS 18.2 be released?
iOS 18.1 will be available to all users next week. The update will introduce Apple Intelligence to the general public, but with very little functionality.
Before its definitive launch, iOS 18.2 Beta will undergo public testing. For now, there is no estimate for the Beta to be released for casual users, but it is expected to happen soon.
Likewise, there is no definitive date for the general distribution of iOS 18.2. However, the expectation is that the update will be released later this year.
