This phased launch is part of Apple’s “responsible use of AI” principles, which aim to prevent possible “overuse” and “abuse” of generative AI tools.
Delivered through Apple Intelligence, Genmoji and Image Playground allow users to create unique emojis and images using artificial intelligence. The developers noted that, unlike previous beta versions, they took a “more cautious approach” to the next generation.
Compatible with iOS 18.2, iPhone 15 Pro and M1-based iPad or later. The update is expected to be released in December.
