In Russia, they are trying to create domestic analogues of Cognex-ViDi and Visual Inspection AI software, which helps control the quality of microelectronics and reduce the number of defects. According to a representative of the industrial competence center “Electronics and Microelectronics”, the companies behind the development are Dayton and JSC Research and Production Enterprise Radar mms, part of the Element group of companies.
The Dayton company has already created a system for automatic optical detection of defects in microelectronics. This solution includes not only specialized software but also a controlled robotic structure. A company representative stated that the product will be a significant contribution to the Russian market and is currently being tested at the Element group’s enterprises, with the possibility of its implementation at other factories.
The project will be completed in 2026 and Radar mms also develops software using artificial neural networks and deep learning. This software will be designed for visual inspection of defects in electronic products, for example during the packaging and soldering stages. ICC added that it is planned to create and test pre-production samples by the end of 2026 and start mass production from 2027, which should significantly improve the quality of automated testing in production.
