According to the senior manager, one in five companies in the country is looking for engineers. During the first half of 2024, engineers’ salaries increased by 16% to 24%.

Russian companies have a huge shortage of engineers of all specialties, Khaba noted. In recruiting services there are three times as many vacancies for electronic engineers as there are resumes. The most in demand are design engineers and process engineers; the shortage of specialists in these areas is 30 thousand and 20.4 thousand people, respectively.

According to hh.ru, from January to October 2024, more than 636 thousand vacancies for engineers were published, 13% more than in the same period of 2023 (565 thousand vacancies). The largest increase in demand was recorded in the case of pre-commissioning engineers (PES): the number of these vacancies increased almost 2.5 times, from 3.8 thousand in 2023 to 9 thousand in 2024. Specialists of services clarified that for every open vacancy for PNR engineers there are four resumes, and the shortage in other engineering areas is even more pronounced.

Companies in the radio electronics industry mainly need installers of electronic components, process engineers and designers, as well as programmers and technologists for the SMD installation line, said Vera Smirnova, executive director of the Consortium of Design Centers and Radio Companies. -Electronic Industry. According to sector participants, the shortage of specialists in these areas amounts to about 7 thousand people.

The average salary of engineers between January and October 2024 increased by 18%, from 87.6 thousand to 103.6 thousand rubles, hh.ru reports. The highest salaries are offered to DevOps engineers (247.4 thousand rubles), project manager engineers (143.6 thousand rubles) and commissioning engineers (104.3 thousand rubles).

Due to staff shortages, Russian companies began to hire more IT specialists from India and Pakistan, RB.RU wrote based on data from hh.ru.
