The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted the first reading of a law that prohibits platform owners from restricting the installation of RuStore on their gadgets.
According to the law, when selling and using gadgets, access to applications and the unified application store should not be restricted. There should also be no restrictions on installing applications from external sources.
Earlier, State Duma deputy Gorelkin said that Apple equipment will not be banned in Russia in connection with the preparation of a project to install a Russian application store on smartphones and tablets.
If the law is adopted, it will come into force on September 1, 2025. [ТАСС]
