iOS 18.1 introduces new protection against brute force passwords. This was reported by researcher Jiska Classen, and also confirmed by Graykey and Magnet Forensics.

There is new information that if the iPhone is left unused for three days, it will automatically reboot. The function itself has been available since iOS 18, but the waiting period was 7 days – now it has been reduced.

iPhones have two states: before the first unlock and after it. In the first case, the smartphone is much more difficult to hack using the brute force method that is used in additional gadgets.

It was also previously reported that other iPhones with iOS 18 may be sending me a reboot signal that they are trying to unlock. Apparently, there is no such function after all.
