The Union of Consumers of the Russian Federation in the Ministry of Industry and Trade has a number of initiatives that implement gadgets in the country.
In particular, they considered the issue of regulation “in Russia since 2025, a ban on the retail sale of portable electronic devices, including domestic production, which is not a unique connector for connecting a charger.” The bottom line is that it is forbidden to sell devices without a USB-C charging port.
They also want the user to be able to choose whether to take a gadget with a charger in the kit or not. If not, then the cost of the device should be lower.
Now, with the purchase of each gadget, the consumer receives one more charger, the cost of which is included in the price and which will need to be disposed of. The new norms, on the one hand, unjustified additional costs for buyers, and on the other hand, a reduction in environmental consumption and the use of natural resources from excess electronic waste.

Experts interviewed by Izvestia are confident that such a decision will narrow the amount of goods that could be sold in Russia. From the outside, if Europe intends to use gadgets with a single connector, then Russia will automatically receive such devices.
