Barclays analyst Tom O’Malley and his colleagues recently visited Asia to meet with various electronics manufacturers and their suppliers.
During the trip, they were “able to verify” that the iPhone SE 4 will be launched by the end of the first quarter of 2025, which is in March. They were also sure that for the first time a smartphone would receive a small 5G modem from Apple.
It is unclear whether the Cupertino team will have any reserves due to their modems. However, it is clear that such a company wants to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm.
iPhone SE 3 launched in March 2022. Still on sale for $429, it’s the only iPhone with a Home button. It is expected that with the release of the iPhone SE 4, the designs of budget devices will be changed; it will become similar to the iPhone 14.
