Rostec commented on the incidents with its Superjet aircraft after one of them caught fire while landing in Antalya. The state corporation noted that the reliability indicators of the SSJ are the same as those of foreign ships of the same class. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the manufacturer’s press service.

“There is no need to demonize Superjet. If a conventional Mercedes has an accident, this does not immediately mean that the car is damaged. All known serious aircraft accidents on the Superjet are due to unfavorable human or external factors,” states the state corporation.
They added that, according to statistics for 2024, the regularity of flights of this type of aircraft is 98%. At the same time, statistics only indicate that “not even the best aircraft is immune to bad weather, maintenance or piloting errors,” Rostec stressed.
Last week there were several incidents with Superjet aircraft. On November 24, the Azimut Airlines ship ran aground at Krasnoyarsk airport due to hydraulic problems.
Also that same day, an SSJ from the same aircraft carrier made a forced landing in Antalya, causing a fuel fire. There were no victims. Rostec said that the official reasons for the incident will be announced by a special commission, but explained that the landing took place in unfavorable weather conditions.
Based on the emergency situation in Turkey, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under part 1 of Article 263 of the Penal Code (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of air transport).
