Insider harukaze5719 shared performance calculations based on the TPP (Total Processing Power) indicator. According to him, the RTX 5090 will get 21,760 CUDA cores and a 3 GHz clock speed in Boost mode, which will provide around 8356 TPP – 50% higher than the RTX 4090 (5285 TPP).
However, the RTX 5090D will most likely lose support for FP8 computing, limiting its duties to FP16 and FP32 standards. In this case, its TPP will be only 2089 and 4178 respectively, which will be lower than the RTX 4090D (4707 TPP).
Such limitations may make the RTX 5090D a less attractive choice for high-performance tasks. As a result, Chinese developers will continue to purchase the current adapter model.
