  • On November 12, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) began applying for licenses from the Ministry of Industry and Trade to suppliers of air conditioners, refrigerators and other equipment with R-410 freon. This stopped part of the supply of these products, Igor Prudnikov, general director of the Association of the Eurasian Market of Heating Systems, told Kommersant.

As Citylink clarified, even during the high season no shortages are expected.

“Thanks to long-term planning, Citylink is currently not experiencing product shortages in the refrigerator and air conditioner categories. The stock of equipment in the online retailer is sufficient to ensure sales during the high season,” the company explained to RB.RU.

Import restrictions in the Russian Federation affected all countries and all types of equipment filled with Freon 410: domestic and industrial air conditioners, domestic refrigerators, and commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. Regarding ozone-depleting substances, the Federal Customs Service is guided by the decision of the EAEC Board of 2015, which requires a license from the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Obtaining this license takes 45 days.

Between 300 and 400 containers with equipment worth a total of 2 billion rubles “may be stuck in ports in China and Russia,” said Pavel Simonov, a representative of Rusklimat TPH. Due to import problems in Russia, there may be a shortage of air conditioners, since “they are not manufactured in the country,” added Anton Guskov, representative of the RATEK association (which brings together DNS, M.Video-Eldorado and other companies). .
