The experimental voice offers more conversational, lively responses and is part of the updated Google Assistant, which is based on Google’s own Gemini model. According to rumors, the new artificial intelligence model will be available to all users in December.

Google Assistant on Nest speakers will use a new voice when responding to certain queries, according to recent leaks on social network Reddit. The assistant allegedly uses the new voice only in conversational speech and reverts to the old voice when answering basic questions.

Sources from Android Authority said that Google Assistant on Nest smart speakers and displays will receive a significant update in functionality and capabilities due to the improved Gemini language model. The assistant will offer users more natural voices, a “conversational experience” and more context-rich responses.

While Google is testing the new voice among a few dozen users, the updated Assistant has yet to be widely adopted.
