The lawsuit states that Apple requires employees to install special software on personal devices used for work. This software allows the company to access personal data such as emails, photos, health information and smart device data. Apple also allegedly introduced a privacy policy that prohibits employees from discussing working conditions, including to the press.

Bhakta, who has worked at Apple since 2020, claims that he was banned from talking about his job in podcasts and was asked to remove information about working conditions from his LinkedIn profile. It is also stated that such practices violate freedom of expression, workers’ right to protect their rights, and limit their ability to change jobs.

An Apple spokesperson said in a statement that the allegations in the lawsuit are unfounded and that company employees receive annual training on their right to discuss working conditions.
