WhatsApp has launched a shortcut to copy the Pix key from your contacts. The new feature started rolling out to all users this Friday (19).
THE Pix key is associated with profile informationsuch as phone number and full name. The new shortcut is not used to transfer directly, but it makes it easier to copy information and saves the user from asking the classic question: “What is your pix?” to make payment.
According to WhatsApp, this function will be available in the attachments menu (along with Gallery, Camera and Document, for example). Once you tap the “Pix” button, you have to provide basic details like the type (mobile phone, CPF, email or random key), submit the key and add the full name used on the registered account.
In the same section, the user can also check the “Privacy Settings” of the resource, choose who can see the Pix key in the profile.
How to add your Pix key to your WhatsApp profile?
Adding the pix key occurs in the attachments menu. To add your own key to your profile, you need to:
- Open any WhatsApp conversation;
- Select the “Attachments” button (shown with a paper clip);
- Select the “Pix” button;
- Provide the data to contain the desired key (Type, Key, and full name);
- Confirm the addition by tapping “Add”.
Afterwards, People with permission will be able to control existing Pix keys On the “Contact Information” page. The area will display a tray with all saved keys in the “Pix” section and a “Copy” button to save the sequence to the Clipboard.
Instead of transfers between individuals
Inter-individual money transfers on WhatsApp will end on December 19. From that date, WhatsApp Payments will no longer be available in the app.

The new shortcut to copy pix key from contacts is a good addition to make everyday transfers easier. but not as practical as the previous solution – at least for those who use it.
In any case, WhatsApp has not ruled out the idea of launching integration with Pix Guilherme Horn, head of WhatsApp in Brazil, said transfers between individuals within the app will be made possible. G1.
The new shortcut for adding Pix will be gradually rolled out to everyone by February 2025. Keep your app updated for a chance to win the new feature.
