The main character will be Ciri, and the duration of the game will be comparable to the third part. As game director Sebastian Kalemba stated, the team prioritizes quality over quantity.
“We don’t want to be servants of numbers. The number of maps and quests in The Witcher 4 will be approximately the same as in Wild Hunt. But the main goal is to create the most engaging experience possible,” Kalemba told Skill Up.
By comparison, The Witcher 3’s story clocks in at over 50 hours, and side quests run over 100 hours. The Witcher 4 promises a similar scale, but developers will focus on details to exceed fans’ expectations.
The project is in active development, but the game will not be released sooner than a few years later.
