Join the Happy Chat movement. This initiative is being implemented in England. People are encouraged to sit on special benches or wear “happy to chat” badges, showing they are open to friendly conversation with passersby. Research shows that these icons make it much easier to start a conversation.

Volunteer with a local charity. Giving not only benefits others, but also creates a sense of purpose in life and connection with others.

Participate in social activities. This includes craft workshops, Christmas caroling etc. may contain.

Stay active and spend more time outdoors. Exercise has been proven to benefit mental health.

Reconnect with friends and family. Send a card to say hello, schedule a call or meeting.

However, it is not recommended to have a pet due to the feeling of loneliness. Instead, try volunteering at an animal shelter or hanging out with friends who have pets.
