It will get powerful Cortex-X930 cores clocked at 4.00 GHz, which is lower than the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s maximum speed of 4.32 GHz.
According to leaks, architectural improvements will enable Dimensity 9500 to surpass its predecessor, Dimensity 9400, whose performance cores run at 3.62 GHz.
But Snapdragon 8 Elite already uses its own Orion cores, which reach 4.32 GHz under standard conditions and can be overclocked to 4.57 GHz, and in the next version of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 the frequency can reach 5.00 GHz.
Developing custom cores like Qualcomm and Apple provides performance advantages.
MediaTek is currently using traditional ARM architecture to avoid legal disputes, but the company may reconsider this strategy in the future.
