Users have noted that MacMi on the M4 does not display resolution settings for these displays correctly, causing the interface and text to appear blurry.
Both Intel-based and older Apple devices with M1 and M2 chips work correctly in HiDPI mode with these monitors, which improves image clarity. However, newer Macs do not have this mode. The issue was noted by Mac Mini M4 and MacBook Pro M4 owners.
Some users have been able to enable HiDPI using third-party software like BetterDisplay, but this reduces the screen refresh rate from 75Hz to 60Hz.
Apple has yet to officially acknowledge the issue and users are advised to avoid purchasing a Mac M4 if you use ultrawide monitors.
