Apple issued an official statement after agreeing to pay $95 million to settle a lawsuit over liability for Siri’s sincere eavesdropping and data sharing with advertisers.

Apple has never used Siri data to create marketing profiles, has never made it available for advertising, and has never sold it to anyone for any purpose.

Siri processes data using the minimum amount of information necessary to provide accurate results. Siri searches and questions are not tied to your Apple account. Instead, a random ID assigned to a specific device is used to complete the request.
