At CES 2025, accessory maker Zugu unveiled an iPad accessory kit called In Case of Death.

The death kit includes:

▶︎ iPad Pro 11 with M4 chip
▶︎ Limited Edition Zugu 360 Protective Case
▶︎ Smart ring in case of death with a pulse diptych device
▶︎ Application in case of death

The idea behind the device is this: the user wears a smart ring and receives an iPad. In the event of death, when the pulse stops and the oxygen level in the blood drops sharply, the ring recognizes the occurrence of death and sends a signal to the application.

Once the app receives a signal, it automatically retrieves browser history and other users’ data, starts looping Rika Estli’s Rickroll My Loved Ones, and sends a farewell tweet.

The company is confident that this decision will be appreciated by those who do not want their secrets to be known after death.

It’s designed for anyone with an embarrassing historical quest, scandalous body camera footage, incriminating evidence, or a secret second family in Uruguay.
