During a demonstration, journalist Sean Hollister discovered that the module could easily be separated from a handset made of heavy metal. Above it, a matching laptop had a similar module slot that Intel spokesman Colin Helms confirmed was part of a modular system.
As The Verge notes, the modular laptop also includes plenty of “conceptual bells and whistles”; so many that Intel employees at the show “haven’t even had time to work on them yet.”
So the laptop has a motorized hinge; You can tell it to open and close its own lid. It also offers eye-tracking, allowing you to switch between multitasking windows by simply looking where you want it to be. Apparently it also “comes with a mouse built into the ring.”
However, these features are still in the concept stage and few people believe that the device will hit the market.
